Who We Are
We are a secular and inclusive homeschool cooperative dedicated to providing both academic and enrichment opportunities for students in a safe and loving environment. We meet at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton for 30 weeks a year from September through May on Thursdays. There are four class periods per day of one hour and fifteen minutes each. Some of our members take classes all day long, but others choose to come for just part of the day. We have about 40-45 member families and around 80 kids from kindergarten through the end of high school. Passport has been very fortunate in being able to attract a lot of older homeschoolers to our program, so our teens have plenty of chances to meet and socialize.
We require that parents stay at the co-op location for the entire time that their kids are in classes. As we are a true co-operative we also expect that each family will teach or co-teach at least one class each semester. The registration fee for Passport is $75 per family per year, plus the materials fees for any classes their children take. Materials fees range from $0 to $50 per 15 week semester depending on the nature of the class, with classes such as science or art being on the upper end of that range.
Spaces for new Passport members are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Current Passport members have first priority in signing up for new classes, and additional spaces are made available to new members. If you would like to talk about joining our co-op, you can contact us.
